From One Moment to the Next

By Mark Gregory Peters

This is a series of diptics relating to events, in personal experience, of time spent on a recent weekend day.  You could say that they relate to what I did, whom I was with or saw, where I went, etc.  The images are taken in different moments and places, seamingly disconnected from each other, but as one experience in any given moment blends itself into the next, the images also represnt the connection of one instant to that of another instant.  In how what we see, and how we see it, in one moment will set the basis for how we perceive the next, what grabs your attention, whether it be in the form of a shape, a posture or  attitude, or a grouping of colors.  I may focus my attention on one scene, and somehow the perception of that scene is transferred to how I interpret the next.  Similar to the conscious process of editing a bunch of images, but doing it simultaneously as you move from one moment to the next.  Sort of an editing on the fly so to speak, defining the linear relationship by which we determine what elements of any given moment are worth focusing on.

Note: it may take a few moments to load the images once you click on one.  Please be patient.
